Challenge

Take Van's 17 different brand websites and merge them into a single e-commerce experience.

Idea

The unique voice of the brand needed to be channeled and the sense of community captured to truly inspire the Vans following.  We crafted a unified journey based on a consumer's context, preferences, and interactions across devices.

By promoting aspiration through brand storytelling, with integrated product awareness the new site provided an intuitive and authentic user experience leveraging HCD principles. The UI/UX effortlessly guided users, fostering momentum and commerce without being pushy.  We encouraged awareness and facilitated easy purchase paths for all products, creating a smooth experience across devices.

Result

We engaged in ongoing data measurement, analysis, and reporting to understand consumer behavior and impact desired results. By combining this with client feedback, social listening and demographic, purchasing and media trends, this new unified single-site design blended commerce and brand content dynamically and seamlessly.  The new site drove sales growth in multiple channels (online, retail, wholesale) and on multiple devices (web, mobile, tablet).

Aurora Caskets / Site Design

By elegantly pivoting a difficult conversation from caskets to memories through a social platform celebrating life, we successfully drove referrals and sales for Aurora Caskets.

Astellas Pharma / Launch Campaign

Launching a new pharmaceutical required creativity to tackle a potentially embarrassing topic.  We introduced a 3D character and humour for a memorable approach. 

The Weather Network / Redesign

Canada’s trusted source for weather information needed a refresh, with an objective of improving monetization of the platform and delivering an exceptional customer experience.

Canadian Tire / Design

In this client-side role, I contributed to explosive e-commerce growth of 55%+, driven by personalization, testing and on-going optimization.

Harley-Davidson / Product Launch

Launch the biggest lineup change in company history without compromising the “die-hard’ relationship between the brand and the fans.
